Who we are
 

The "Green Knights" are a military motorcycle club (MMC) that was founded in the early part 2000 on McGuire AFB, New Jersey. It was the idea of Adam Buehler to organize and bring awareness to base motorcyclists for safety and activities.  With the aid of the base MSF instructor, Jeff Richards, they created a club where riders can get together, discuss issues of the base, help each other, and go on rides.  Most of all, to enjoy their bikes and share a common interest.  Our by-laws, policies, and mentorship outlines have become the basis of the AF current policy to have a motorcycle club on every base.  Currently there are over 90 chapters worldwide and growing.

In 2004 Erick Scroggins requested from Adam Buehler to start a chapter for the Maxwell/Gunter AFB community. He was the 10^th person to make the request and thus Chapter 10 was born.  But things didn't take off. At the time the local riders weren't looking to be "policed" while riding, so the chapter never got off the ground.  In 2007, Norm Smith and Brad Whitmill started riding under the Green Knights name and in 2008 the chapter had it's own Charter/By-Laws and approval from the 42nd ABW commander. In 2008 under the leadership of Dominic "Not Lost" Gezzi the chapter had over 20 active members.

The Green Knights work hand and hand with the Wing Safety Office and Security Forces to help riders retain their rights and still follow the regulations of the Air Force.  The Green Knights stand for SAFETY.  Our Safety Director keeps the club updated on Department Of Defense, Department Of Transportation, and local changes to traffic regulations.  The Executive Board also disseminates these changes to non-club members.

The Green Knights do not discriminate against any type of motorcycle or scooter.  We are always looking for new members.

This is a club for all local military and their dependants.  Members range from Active Duty, National Guard, Reservists to Retirees as well as Dependants and DoD Civilians.  Members are only asked to ride safe and have fun.  If you are military, retired, DoD Civilian, or Military Contractor and a motorcycle rider and would like to learn more about joining the Green Knights, contact one of our chapter Officers.  Email addresses can be found in the Officers page.
